Piano Gully derives it's name from the  misadventures of Charles Young an original "group settler" in the region. A  piano being imported by Mr Young, was shipped from England and arrived at the port of Fremantle, Western Australia. From there it was transported by rail to Bridgetown and sent on to Middlesex by horse and cart. After an arduous journey, and within site of its final destination, the piano fell from the cart and was destroyed.

Piano Gully is located amongst the spectacular tall karri trees of the Pemberton Wine Region in the south west of Western Australia. The rich loam soils and cool even temperatures during the ripening period contribute to the  intense fruit flavours, structural complexity and the ultimate fine quality of  the region's wines.
